Planning a St. Pete bachelorette weekend: the rules, the weather and getting around

What to know before booking.

A St. Pete bachelorette party is a downtown hotel or beach resort, rooftop drinks on Beach Drive, cocktails on Central Avenue, brunch, a party bike or beach cabana day, with the SunRunner between downtown and the beach. Check the rental's zoning and leave the drinks off the sand.

Drinks and the law

The drinking age is 21. St. Petersburg bans drinking and open containers on streets, sidewalks and city parks, and within 500 feet outside a bar, with an exception for pedal bus passengers. St. Pete Beach bans drinking on all beach sand. Pinellas County parks ban alcohol and glass. Open drinks are not allowed on PSTA buses.

When to go

NOAA normals downtown give highs of about 76 degrees in March, 81 in April, 83 in October and 77 in November, with 6 to 8 inches of rain a month from June to September. Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. The Grand Prix of St. Petersburg races downtown on March 7, 2027.

Getting around

The SunRunner connects downtown and St. Pete Beach for $2.25 by card or app, and the free Central Avenue Trolley runs between Grand Central Station and the St. Pete Pier. Tampa International is 20 miles from St. Petersburg and 27 from St. Pete Beach.

Check the zoning, keep the drinks off the sand, and tap a card on the SunRunner.

The places named here

Every hotel, bar, restaurant and activity on this page is named by at least three independent sources, at least one of them authoritative, and its hours, prices and group rules are as published on its own website in September 2026. Revelwick has not visited them, does not rate them and is not paid by them.

Where the rules come from

Rental and drinking rules are from the codes of St. Petersburg, St. Pete Beach and Pinellas County and the Florida Statutes, transit from PSTA and the airports, the Pier rules from the St. Pete Pier, hurricane season from the National Hurricane Center, events from their organizers, and the weather from NOAA climate normals.
