02

Downtown Pensacola

City noise rules run 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., measured 50 feet away.

06

Boat cruises, tiki boats and pedal pubs

What to check, and what to ask about the price, before you book a cruise.

01

A sunset cruise

Ask the price per person, the guest limit and whether drinks are allowed on board.

02

A tiki boat

Visit Pensacola's directory lists tiki boat cruises; check the operator is still trading before you pay.

03

A paddle pub or pedal pub

Ask in writing whether alcohol is permitted, because open containers are banned in the beach commercial district.

04

The six passenger rule

A crewed charter that is not Coast Guard inspected carries six passengers, so a bigger group needs an inspected boat.

Planning a Pensacola bachelorette weekend

The rules, the drive and the calendar.

A Pensacola bachelorette party splits between two places: the island, where drinks on the sand are legal, and downtown Palafox, where the bars and venues are. Two bridges connect them, the Pensacola Bay Bridge and the Bob Sikes Bridge.

Drinks and the law

The drinking age is 21. County code allows drinks on the sand but bans open containers on streets, sidewalks, the boardwalk and public parking lots in the beach commercial district, and in the 1.75 acre alcohol free zone by the Gulf Pier. Downtown, city code bans open containers on sidewalks and in parks. Florida exempts passengers in a chartered bus or limo with a licensed driver; a group car is not exempt.

Getting there

Pensacola International publishes seven to eight airlines and about 28 nonstop destinations. Taxis start at an $11 minimum plus a $2.50 airport fee.

When to go

NOAA normals give highs of about 85 degrees in May and 81 in October, the driest warm months, against 91 and over 7 inches of rain in July. Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, peaking around September 10. The Pensacola Beach Air Show is July 14 to 17, 2027.

Drinks on the sand, nothing open on the street, and two bridges between the bars and the beach.

Where this comes from

The places and rules are as published in September 2026.

The places named here

Every bar, music venue and restaurant on this page is named by at least three independent sources, at least one of them authoritative, and its hours and terms are as published on its own website in September 2026. Revelwick has not visited them, does not rate them and is not paid by them.

Where the rules come from

Alcohol, open container, glass and noise rules are from the Escambia County and City of Pensacola codes, park fees and the Fort Pickens description from the National Park Service, beach safety and the trolley from the Santa Rosa Island Authority and Escambia County Area Transit, vehicle and rental rules from the Florida Statutes, the airport from Pensacola International Airport, weather from NOAA climate normals, hurricane season from the National Hurricane Center, and event dates from their organizers.
