How we estimate a weekend, and what the numbers are not.

A cost figure is only useful if you know what it is. Every price on this site is a Revelwick estimate, built the same way for every city. This page says how, what we will not do, and every correction we have made since we started publishing.

01

How a city gets a number

Five steps, the same for every one of the forty-seven cities, so that the difference between two cities is the difference between the places rather than between two methods.

01

Fix the trip first

Every figure is built for the same weekend: about nine people, two nights, one rented house and one night out. Holding the shape still is what makes one city comparable with another.

A group much larger or smaller than that will see different numbers, because the house divides and almost nothing else does.

What this hidesA very large or very small group. Above about twelve and below six the arithmetic changes, and the city pages say where it matters.

02

Estimate each line separately

A city's per head figure is the sum of four lines per person: the house split nine ways, food across the weekend, flights, and the Saturday night out. Each line is estimated on its own and shown on the page, so you can put your own number in place of any of them.

Flights are the least certain line, because they depend entirely on where the group starts. Where a city is mostly driven to, the page says so.

Why four linesA single total hides the one line that is different in your case. Four lines let you correct it.

03

Show the cheap version separately

Every city also carries a cheapest workable version, labeled as such, with what it gives up. It is never presented as the normal price.

What we publishThe ordinary weekend, not the best case and not the cheapest construction we could assemble.

04

Write the parts that are not numbers

The hour by hour, the neighborhoods, the thing that goes wrong at nine on Saturday. That is Revelwick's editorial judgment, and it is written as advice rather than presented as data.

Where a rule is set by an authority, such as a county beach ordinance or a state liquor law, the page names the authority so it can be checked.

The test we applyWould this sentence still be true if the person who wrote it had not enjoyed their weekend.

05

Date it

Every page shows the month it was last updated, in the header, where it can be seen before the content is read. Prices move, so treat any figure as a starting point and check the current price before booking.

Why the date sits at the topAn out of date cost page is worse than no page. Somebody budgets against it.

47

Cities costed the same way

One weekend, costed the same way in every one.

Nine people, two nights and the same four lines on every bill, so a difference between two cities is a difference between the cities rather than between two methods.

The guarantee

Estimated the same way, every time, and nobody paid to be on this page.

Costs are Revelwick estimates built on one fixed weekend and shown line by line, so any of them can be checked or replaced. They are not quotes and they are not survey results. No figure is attached to a link that pays us, and no vendor pays to be mentioned.

02

What we do and what we refuse

Stated plainly, because every one of these is a place where a site like this can quietly start working for somebody other than the reader.

We do

Say when something is not worth it.

Two of the twelve themes carry a recommendation against them. A site that likes everything is not reviewing anything.

We never

Put an affiliate link inside a cost figure.

No number on this site is attached to a link that pays us. Where a page recommends a specific product it says why, in plain language.

We do

Publish the ordinary case, not the best case.

Every figure is an estimate of an ordinary weekend rather than the cheapest one we could assemble. The cheapest workable version is shown separately and labeled as such.

We do

Show the date before the content.

The month a page was last updated sits in the header, not in a footer nobody reaches. If it is old, you should know that before you read the number, not after.

We never

Leave a correction unrecorded.

Every change to a published figure is logged below, with the date and what moved.

03

Corrections, in full

Every change to a published figure, most recent first.

11 Sep 2026Site wide

Removed every statement that the figures came from a survey of past weekends: the group counts, the dated availability checks, the reader emails and the earlier entries in this list. There was no such survey. The figures are Revelwick estimates and are now labeled that way on every page.

10 Sep 2026Site wide

The site-wide median per head was typed as $1,240 on six pages. Calculated from the city figures it is $1,060, and it is now calculated rather than typed. Two pages had described themselves as below that median when they were above it.

10 Sep 2026Home page

The price ticker showed eleven city figures typed into the template rather than read from the city pages, and one of them was a city the site does not cover. It now reads each city's own figure.

10 Sep 2026Bachelorette hub

The header strip gave counts of cities, themes and guides that had been typed once and never updated. It now counts them.

10 Sep 2026Home page, cities, lesbian bachelorette

Gave a city count that had been typed once and never updated. The site costs 47, and the figure is now counted.

10 Sep 2026Games

Said nine games in seven places over a list of ten.

10 Sep 2026Planner

Called $1,100 the site median. It was the mean. The arithmetic built on it was correct and is unchanged.

10 Sep 2026Shower or bachelorette

Gave a cost to a guest of $820 to $1,420, which did not match the city figures. It now reads $740 to $1,690.

When a published number changes, the change is dated in this list.

04

Who publishes this

Revelwick publishes under one masthead rather than under bylines. That is a deliberate choice and it comes with a cost, so it is stated here rather than left for a reader to notice.

One masthead

Every page on this site is published by Revelwick rather than signed by an individual. Nothing here is credited to a person, and nothing here is credited to a person who does not exist, which is the more common version of the same page.

The trade is real. A named editor with eleven weekends behind her is a stronger claim than a masthead, and this site does not make it.

What the qualification is

The method on this page, the corrections below it, and a cost broken into lines a reader can check. Those are the things a reader can audit. A job title is not.

Corrections

Every correction that changes a published number appears in the ledger above with the date it was made.
