Planning an Anna Maria Island bachelorette: the rules and the weather

What to know before booking.

An Anna Maria Island bachelorette is a local getaway trip: a rental near the sand, a boat charter, yoga, dinner on the water and a bar crawl on Bridge Street, with the free trolley between them. Check the rental's occupancy and minimum stay first.

Drinks and the law

The drinking age is 21. All three cities ban alcohol, glass and open containers on public beaches, including the county parks at Coquina and Manatee. Florida exempts passengers in vehicles for hire from its open container law, but the trolley does not allow open drinks. A charter carrying more than six passengers needs a Coast Guard Certificate of Inspection, so ask to see it.

When to go

NOAA normals near Bradenton give highs of 78 to 86 degrees in March, April, October and November, and 90 or more with 6 to 10 inches of rain a month from June to September. Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. Sea turtle nesting season runs May 1 to October 31, with no lights on the beach after sunset.

The occupancy in writing, no drinks on the sand, and the trolley to Bridge Street.

The island orderBefore booking

The places named here

Every resort, bar, restaurant and activity on this page is named by at least three independent sources, at least one of them authoritative, and its hours, prices and group rules are as published on its own website in September 2026. Revelwick has not visited them, does not rate them and is not paid by them.

Where the rules come from

Rental and beach rules are from the codes of the City of Anna Maria, Holmes Beach and Bradenton Beach, drinking rules from the Florida Statutes and those codes, the trolley and beach parks from Manatee County, the charter rule from the Coast Guard regulations, hurricane season from the National Hurricane Center, and the weather from NOAA climate normals.
