Closed all day Sunday, so buy the bottles on the way in.

Planning tips for South Carolina bachelorette parties

What to settle before the trip.

01

Pick the ideal city for the bride

Ask what she wants: her favorite restaurants, a boat day, or a big night out.

02

Check the home base

Look for the permit or license number on any rental listing.

03

Dress for the plan

Some bars set dress codes, such as smart-casual at Republic in Charleston.

04

Plan for summer heat

July normal highs are 87 to 91 degrees, so take the hot hours slow.

05

Book the busy spots early

RipTydz takes no same-day reservations, and Blueberry's takes none on weekends.

06

Stop for bottles once

Before 7 p.m. Monday to Saturday, with sealed bottles in the trunk.

08

The state rules every bachelorette group should know

Statewide law, the coast, airports and the calendar.

A South Carolina bachelorette party is a choice between a city trip to Charleston or Greenville and the coast at Myrtle Beach or Hilton Head. The same state rules apply in all four, and each city has its own rental law.

Drinks and the law

The drinking age is 21. Bars can serve liquor from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m., and on Sunday only where local voters approved it. State law bans open containers in the passenger area of any motor vehicle on a public road, and the sections read contain no exception for party buses or limos.

The beaches

Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head, Folly and Isle of Palms all ban alcohol and glass on the sand; Isle of Palms bans even closed containers.

Airports

Charleston International is about 11 miles from downtown, per Explore Charleston. Myrtle Beach International lists more than 50 nonstop destinations. Hilton Head has its own airport about 5 miles from the resorts, and Savannah/Hilton Head International is about 45 miles away in Georgia. Greenville-Spartanburg is about 15 minutes from downtown Greenville, per VisitGreenvilleSC.

When to go

NOAA normal highs in April are about 77 degrees in Charleston, 72 in Myrtle Beach and 73 in Greenville, against 87 to 91 in July. Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30 and peaks around September 10. In 2027, Charleston Wine + Food runs March 3 to 7, the Cooper River Bridge Run is April 3, RBC Heritage is April 12 to 18 on Hilton Head, and the Carolina Country Music Fest is June 10 to 13 in Myrtle Beach. Fall for Greenville runs October 9 to 11, 2026.

Bottles bought before 7 on Saturday, nothing open in the car, and no drinks on the sand.

Where this comes from

The costs are Revelwick estimates. The places and rules are as published in September 2026.

What the figures are

The per head figures are Revelwick editorial estimates for a group of about nine over two nights. They are a starting point for a budget conversation rather than a quote, so check current prices before you book.

The places named here

Every hotel, bar, restaurant and activity on this page is named by at least three independent sources, at least one of them authoritative, and its hours and terms are as published on its own website in September 2026. Revelwick has not visited them, does not rate them and is not paid by them.

Where the rules come from

Liquor store and drink rules are from the South Carolina Code of Laws and Department of Revenue, beach and rental rules from the codes and pages of Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head Island, Folly Beach, Isle of Palms, Charleston and Greenville, airports from the airports and visitor bureaus, hurricane season from the National Hurricane Center, weather from NOAA climate normals, and event dates from their organizers.
