Planning a bachelorette party in Orlando: the rules, the calendar and the money
What to know before booking an Orlando bachelorette party.
An Orlando bachelorette party is a resort pool, a spa afternoon, a show on International Drive and a drag brunch, at about $890 a head for two nights as a Revelwick estimate. The planning is about a legal place to stay, one district for the night and hurricane season.
Drinks and the law
The drinking age is 21. City of Orlando bars may serve until 2 a.m., but downtown the hours after midnight need a city permit. In unincorporated Orange County, which covers much of the tourist corridor, bars serve until 2 a.m. and stores sell alcohol from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. every day. Open drinks on streets and sidewalks are banned in both.
When to go
NOAA normals at the airport give highs of about 75 degrees in February, 79 in March and 78 in November, the driest month. June to September bring highs of 90 to 92 and 6 to 8 inches of rain a month. Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30 and peaks around September 10.
Getting around
MCO lists taxis to downtown or International Drive at about $38 to $45 and to the Disney resorts at about $52 to $68, and Brightline runs from a station at the airport to South Florida.
Where the money goes
Food is the largest line at about $249 a head, then getting there at about $240, rooms at about $231 and one booked activity at about $170.
A legal place to stay, one district for the night, and a month outside the storm peak.
