Bridal shower venue ideas
Places to host a bridal shower, from free to fully catered, and what each one suits.
Someone's home or backyard
A living space, a kitchen and a backyard. The cozy, low cost option for an intimate shower of up to about twenty. The trade is that the host cooks, hosts and cleans.
A restaurant private dining room
The easiest option: the food, tables and clean up are handled. Ask for the food and drink minimum, what counts toward it, and whether you can bring a cake and decorations.
A hotel
A private terrace or event space with a set menu and staff to run the celebration. Ideal for a formal guest list or one with out of town family staying nearby.
A tea room or a cafe
A natural fit for a tea party theme, often with a set afternoon tea menu and a space that is already decorated for the bride.
A winery, brewery or distillery
A tasting space with views, wine or beer included in a package, and a relaxed feel for outdoor events. Check whether food is provided or brought in.
A country club or community club
A clubhouse with a dining space and a patio, good for larger showers and families who are already members.
A botanical garden or park
A garden pavilion or a park picnic area for a spring or summer shower. Check the permit rules and have a rain plan before the invitations go out.
An event venue or banquet hall
A rented space for fifty or more guests, with tables and chairs and sometimes catering. The most planning, and the most flexibility.
A farm or barn
A rustic setting for a rustic or farmers market theme, often with outdoor space and room for a long table.
A studio, gallery or bookshop after hours
Unique bridal shower venues with character: an art studio with a class, a small gallery, or a bookshop for a book club theme.
An activity venue
A cooking school, a pottery or flower arranging studio, or a spa, where the venue includes the activity.
A virtual shower
An online party for guests who cannot travel, with gifts shipped ahead. See the virtual bridal shower page.

Bridal shower venues by guest count
The right space depends first on how many guests are coming.
An intimate shower, 15 to 25 guests
A house, a restaurant private dining space, a tea room or a small studio. One long table, and a seat for everyone while the bride opens gifts.
A medium shower, 26 to 50 guests
A hotel event space, a winery or brewery, a country club, or a beach club with a buffet.
A large shower, 50 or more guests
An event venue, a banquet hall or a garden venue with rentals, a microphone for the games and a separate gift table.

How to choose a bridal shower venue
The budget, the guest list, the theme, the location, and the questions to ask before booking.
The perfect bridal shower venue fits the budget, the guest list and the style of the celebration, and it is easy for every guest to reach. Settle those four before looking at options, and the right place to host the event becomes much clearer.
Start with the budget
A house costs nothing for the space, a restaurant charges a food and drink minimum, a hotel or club charges per guest, and an event space charges a hire fee plus rentals. Compare the total for the afternoon rather than the headline price. The who pays for the bridal shower page covers how the host sets the budget.
Match the capacity and the layout to the guest list
A bridal shower is a seated event with the gift opening at the center, so every guest needs a chair and a view of the bride. A long thin space splits the group; a square space or one long table works better. Ask how the space will be set before booking.
Consider the theme and the season
A garden party suits a botanical garden or a backyard in spring, a tea party suits a tea room, a brunch suits a restaurant, and a winter shower suits a cozy hotel or a restaurant with a fireplace. The venue can do half the decorating when it already fits the theme. See the bridal shower themes page for ideas.
Choose a location that works for the guests
Pick a place near where most of the guests live or near the bride, with parking and step free access for older guests. For a shower with out of town family, a hotel with rooms or a venue near the wedding location makes the day easier.
Outdoor and seasonal bridal shower venues
Spring and early fall are the seasons for outdoor venues: a garden, a vineyard terrace, a beach club or a park pavilion. Summer suits a pool or a waterfront deck with shade. Winter moves the celebration indoors to a hotel, a tea room or a restaurant with a fireplace. For any outdoor event, book a covered backup space and decide the rain plan before the invitations go out.
A special setting does not have to cost more. A friend's garden in bloom or a backyard with string lights can feel just as ideal for the bride as a rented venue.
Nine questions to ask before booking a bridal shower venue
What is the minimum or fee, and what counts toward it? How long is the time block, and what happens if the party runs over? Is there a cake fee if we bring our own? Can we bring decorations, and what cannot be hung? Is the room fully private? Is there parking? Is it accessible without stairs? Is there a table for gifts? Can we arrive early to set up?
Get the answers in writing with the quote, including tax and service, so every option is compared on the same total.
Finding bridal shower venues near you
Search for private dining rooms, tea rooms, wineries, garden venues and event spaces in your area, then call two or three and ask the same nine questions. Local wedding planners and the venue listings in wedding directories are also a good place to find options. This site does not list specific venues, because we have not visited them.
To save money, ask for a weekday evening or a Sunday afternoon rather than Saturday midday, which is the block every shower, christening and birthday party wants.
When home is the right bridal shower venue
For twelve to twenty people with a host who has a table and a willing kitchen, hosting at home is the warmest option. When the list grows past about twenty-five, when nothing seats everyone, or when older relatives cannot manage stairs, move the shower to a venue.
Compare the total for the afternoon, not the headline price. A minimum, a fee and a per guest menu are three different numbers.

Where this comes from
We do not list venues. The five kinds and the questions are ours.
What the figures are
Every cost on this page is a Revelwick editorial estimate for a bridal shower of about eighteen guests. It is a starting point for a budget conversation rather than a quote, and prices move, so check the current price before you book anything.
What is ours
Sorting venues into five kinds, and putting the room minimum above the per head price, is ours. So is the nine question list, which is what separates a room that works from one that photographs well.
We do not name or recommend individual venues anywhere on this site, because we have not been in them.
