Months and a day: the Miami Beach short-term rental line
In Miami Beach, book a hotel rather than a house.
The City of Miami Beach bans rentals of six months and one day or less in all single-family homes and in many apartment buildings in certain zoning districts, and guests in an illegal rental can be evicted. A legal rental has to show its city tax receipt number and its resort tax certificate number in the listing. For a group of nine, that makes a hotel the safer booking, and it is the reason the rooms are the largest line on this bill.
03
The four numbers that move a Miami bachelorette party bill
Estimates for a group of nine. The first one is the biggest saving on the page.
A night of rooms, a day of eating out and one night out. Miami is expensive by the day, so the shorter trip is the cleanest saving.
Brickell is the financial district across the bay, with its own nightlife. The beach becomes a ride rather than a walk.
About $220 a head once the minimum spend is counted. One is a good afternoon. Two is the worse weekend.
The clearest wasted line in the city. It does not make the night better, and it is the easiest way to double the nights out line.

Things to do in Miami for a bachelorette party
Pool parties, day clubs, yacht and boat days, art, culture and shopping. Check current prices before booking.
A pool party or a beach club day
The Strawberry Moon pool at The Goodtime Hotel runs pool parties Friday to Sunday. Nikki Beach, at 1 Ocean Drive in South of Fifth, opens its beach club daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Joia Beach on Watson Island has chairs and cabanas by reservation. Alcohol and glass are banned on the public sand, so the cocktails happen at the pool.
The beach before eleven
Free, easy and a relaxed start to the day. South Pointe Park at the southern tip of Miami Beach is open sunrise to sunset, with beach access and restrooms.
On the water: a sightseeing cruise or a yacht charter
Island Queen Cruises runs a 90-minute narrated cruise from Bayside Marketplace past Millionaire's Row and PortMiami. For a private yacht charter of nine with a captain, the boat needs a Coast Guard Certificate of Inspection and the captain a Merchant Mariner Credential, so ask for both before paying.
The Wynwood Walls and a Wynwood afternoon
The Wynwood Walls on NW 2nd Avenue is a ticketed outdoor mural space, open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. as published, and at least one visitor in each party must be over 18. The streets around it are free to walk.
Little Havana and Domino Park
Máximo Gómez Park, known as Domino Park, on Calle Ocho is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day. The games are for members, and visitors can watch. Add Cuban coffee and a salsa class and it is the cultural half of the weekend.
Shopping on Lincoln Road and in the Design District
Lincoln Road is a pedestrian promenade in Miami Beach with shops, restaurants and cafes. The Miami Design District is a neighborhood of fashion, design, art and dining, with its own parking garages.
Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

Planning a Miami bachelorette party: the rules, the calendar and the money
What catches groups out in Miami, and how to plan around it.
A Miami bachelorette party is a pool day, a rooftop with a view, a drag brunch and a night out in one trip, and it is the most expensive destination on this site at about $1,690 a head. The planning is mostly about three local rules and one budget conversation.
Book a hotel rather than a rental
Miami Beach bans short-term rentals of six months and one day or less in all single-family homes and in many apartment buildings in certain zoning districts, and guests in an illegal rental can be evicted. That is why this page prices a hotel stay and lists places with pools. If the group wants a rental, check the listing's city tax receipt and resort tax certificate numbers against the city's lookup before paying.
No alcohol and no glass on the public beach
Drinking alcohol in a public place, including the beach, is illegal in Miami Beach, with a first offense fine of up to $250 or up to thirty days in jail, and glass containers are banned on the beach. Plan the cocktails at a licensed day club, a pool or a rooftop, and keep the sand for swimming and sun.
Skip March, and check the event calendar
Miami Beach has used spring break measures in recent years, including curfews in 2023 and 2024, and flat garage rates of $30 to $100, doubled towing fees, fewer beach entrances with checkpoints and early package store closings from 2024 to 2026. Also check the event dates: Art Basel Miami Beach, December 4 to 6, 2026; the Miami International Boat Show, February 10 to 14, 2027; the Miami Open, March 14 to 28, 2027; Ultra Music Festival, March 26 to 28, 2027; and the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, April 30 to May 2, 2027.
The best time for a Miami bachelorette party
Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, and the National Weather Service in Miami defines the wet season as May 15 to October 15. January is the driest month on average, followed by February, December and March. Put that beside the calendar and January is the best time, with November second.
Nightlife hours and the club night
Closing times depend on the area and the venue, so check each place's published hours rather than assuming a citywide rule: LIV lists 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sugar closes at 2 or 3 a.m., and E11EVEN operates around the clock. Venues are 21 and over with dress codes, and table prices vary by event. Agree a spending limit for the night out before the trip, and skip bottle service unless the whole group has agreed to it.
What to pack and wear for a Miami bachelorette
Swimsuits and cover-ups for the pool days, sunscreen and sunglasses, a dressy outfit that fits the scene and the dress code, comfortable shoes for walking Wynwood and Little Havana, a light rain jacket in the wet season, and a physical ID for every guest, since several venues are 18 or 21 and over. The bride's all-white outfits photograph well against the pool and the murals.
The vibe of each Miami neighborhood
South Beach is the stylish, busy scene: the water, Ocean Drive, Lincoln Road and the pool parties. Brickell is the high rise district with skyline views, rooftop cocktails and a more polished night out. Wynwood is the art and street style spot, easy to explore on foot. Little Havana is the food and culture stop, with Cuban coffee and music. A trip that spends one part of a day in each is the easy way to see the city rather than one strip of it.
Getting to Miami and getting around
Fly into Miami International or Fort Lauderdale. Miami-Dade taxis are metered, and trips from Miami International carry a $2 airport fee and a $15 minimum fare. Rideshare is simplest for a group between South Beach, Wynwood, Brickell and downtown.
Where the money goes
Rooms are the largest line at about $620 a head, then food and drink at about $430, the nights out at about $340 and flights at about $300. Girls who pick one paid anchor, a day club, a yacht or a night out, keep close to that estimate; three of them is how Miami gets expensive. The things to do in Miami page covers the free half of the city.
Miami or Fort Lauderdale
Fort Lauderdale is the same coast for about $1,090 a head over two nights, built around a rental house and a boat day. Miami is the choice when the group wants the nightlife, the brunches and the neighborhoods as much as the water.
Pick one paid anchor: a beach club, a boat or a club night. Three of them is how Miami gets expensive.
