Bachelorette bingo is a night out game with squares nobody regrets.

The game gives every guest a card of things that might happen over the evening, and the first to complete a line wins. It keeps a group of nine together on a bar crawl, gives quieter guests a reason to join in, and works as well at a pool or a lake as it does downtown. The squares decide whether it is fun or awkward.

02

Bachelorette bingo squares that work

Prompts in three groups, the free space, and two other versions of the card.

01

Squares about the bride

Someone buys the bride a drink. A stranger gives the bride marriage advice. The bride dances with someone over sixty. The bride tells the story of the proposal. The bride gets a free shot. A band plays her request.

02

Squares about the night out

The group line dances. Someone sings karaoke. The bar plays a song from the bride's high school years. The group gets a photo with the bartender. Somebody spots another bachelorette party.

03

Squares about the group

A bridesmaid loses a shoe. Somebody calls the groom. A group photo with everybody in it. Someone orders food at midnight.

04

The free space

The middle square is free, and it should say something about the bride, such as her name, her new last name, or the wedding date.

05

A pool or lake day version

Someone falls asleep in the sun. The bride does a cannonball. A dog joins the group. Somebody forgets sunscreen. It swaps the bar prompts for daytime ones.

06

A house party version

For a night in, the prompts move to the house: the bride opens a gift, a game gets competitive, someone cries at a toast. It suits a group that is not going out at all.

Bachelorette bingo card ideas by theme

Pick the edition that matches the plan, and add inside jokes about the bride.

01

Glam night out

The DJ plays her favorite song, the group gets a free round of drinks, someone asks for the bride's autograph, the group dances on a stage.

02

Bar crawl

The group visits three bars, a bartender makes the bride a special drink, someone toasts the bride in a new bar, the group sings along to a throwback song.

03

Spa or pajama night in

Face masks on, someone falls asleep first, the bride tells the proposal story, a movie quote is recited word for word.

04

Wine night or winery tour

Someone says oaky, the bride finds her favorite wine, a toast to the couple, a group photo in the vineyard.

05

Destination weekend

A photo at a landmark, the group tries a local drink, someone buys a souvenir, a local recommends a place to eat.

06

PG version

Sweet and silly prompts for a mixed group or family: the bride laughs until she cries, someone shows a baby photo of the couple, a text from the groom.

How to play bachelorette bingo, and keep it kind

Making the cards, the rules, squares to avoid, prizes, and how it differs from shower bingo.

Bachelorette bingo is a party game in which each guest gets a card of prompts describing things that might happen during the bachelorette party, and marks them off as they happen. It is not the bridal shower version, where guests guess the gifts. It is a night out game, and its job is to keep the group moving together and give everybody a reason to talk to each other.

Making bachelorette bingo cards

Write twenty-four prompts plus a free space, then shuffle them so each card is different. A free bingo card generator does the shuffling and prints a different card for each guest, or you can send a printable as an image to each phone. Printed cards are more fun in hand and more likely to survive as a keepsake.

Write more prompts than you need, around thirty or forty, and let the generator pick. That way every card is different and two guests do not win on the same square at once.

The rules

A square counts when somebody has a photo of it or another guest saw it. The first person to complete a line across, down or diagonally wins a small prize, and play continues for a full card by the end of the evening. The bride plays too, and her card can include a few prompts only she can mark.

Set one rule before the first bar: no square is worth doing something unkind to a stranger, and no square is worth a drink somebody does not want.

Squares to leave off the card

Anything that makes the bride kiss or touch a stranger, anything that requires a guest to drink, prompts about the bride's exes, and squares that single out one guest by name. They are the prompts that turn a fun game into a story nobody wants told at the wedding.

The best squares are the ones that happen naturally on a good night out: a song request, congratulations from someone at the bar, a group photo. The game should make the party more fun, not make things happen that would not otherwise.

A spicier card, with clear consent rules

A spicier bachelorette bingo card can include playful dares, but only ones the bride has approved and every guest is comfortable with. Keep every prompt optional, skip anything involving strangers' bodies or pressure to drink, and let any guest swap a prompt she does not want to do. A dare should be funny for the person doing it, not only for the group watching.

Drink-friendly twists and sober-safe versions

If the group drinks, a completed row can earn a toast rather than a shot. For guests who are not drinking, write prompts that do not involve alcohol at all, such as a mocktail order or a dance request, so the game takes everyone in on equal terms.

Playing bingo with a virtual or long-distance group

Send the card as an image before a video call, ask guests to mark it on their phones, and have the host read out events or play a round during the call. It keeps a friend who cannot travel part of the party.

Prizes for bachelorette bingo

A small prize for the first line, such as choosing the next bar, skipping the cleanup the next morning, or a mini bottle of something, and a slightly bigger one for the first full card. Prizes that are privileges rather than objects cost nothing and fit in no suitcase.

Bachelorette bingo against bridal shower bingo

Bridal shower bingo is a seated game where guests guess which gifts the bride will open, and it runs during the gift opening. Bachelorette bingo is a moving game on a night out or a weekend, and the prompts are events rather than gifts. They share a grid and nothing else, so do not print the shower version for the bachelorette party.

If the bachelorette party includes a lingerie gift opening, a short gift bingo can run then, but the night out card should stay a separate game.

The best squares are the ones that happen naturally on a good night out. The game should not make things happen that would not otherwise.
