Planning a Boston bachelorette weekend: the rules, the calendar and getting around

What to know to plan the perfect Boston bachelorette party.

A Boston bachelorette party is a perfect mix for the bride: views from a rooftop, brunch with live music, an Italian dinner and a brewery or a Fenway tour, at about $1,310 a head for two nights as a Revelwick estimate. Plan a custom photo stop for her favorite spot, then sort out a hotel, the late trains and the drinking rules.

Drinks and the law

The drinking age is 21. Each bar closes at the hour on its license, 2 a.m. at the latest, and patrons may stay up to half an hour after closing without new drinks. Boston bans drinking or carrying an open container on streets, sidewalks and in parks, with a fine of up to $200. Passengers in a hired vehicle may drink; the driver and passengers in a private car may not.

When to go

NOAA normals at Logan give highs of about 67 degrees in May, 76 in June, 73 in September and 62 in October. The Boston Marathon is April 19, 2027, the Head of the Charles Regatta runs October 16 to 18, 2026, and Boston University and MIT graduate in May 2027.

Getting around

Meet Boston puts Logan about four miles from downtown. The SL1 bus is always free from the airport, the Logan Express to Back Bay is free from the airport, and the harbor ferry is $2.40. The subway costs $2.40 a ride or $11 for a day pass, and typical service runs to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, with the MBTA advising a downtown station by 1:30 a.m.

A hotel near the T, the last train by half past one, and no drinks on the sidewalk.

The cost is a Revelwick estimate. The places and rules are as published by their own sources in September 2026.

What the figures are

Every cost on this page is a Revelwick editorial estimate for a group of about nine over two nights. It is a starting point for a budget conversation rather than a quote, so check current prices before you book.

The places named here

Every hotel, bar, restaurant and activity on this page is named by at least three independent sources, at least one of them authoritative, and its hours, prices and group rules are as published on its own website in September 2026. Revelwick has not visited them, does not rate them and is not paid by them.

Where the rules come from

Rental rules are from the City of Boston Inspectional Services and the city's short-term rental ordinance, drinking rules from the Massachusetts General Laws, the Boston Licensing Board and the Boston Municipal Code, transit from the MBTA and Massport, distances and neighborhoods from Meet Boston, events from their organizers, and the weather from NOAA climate normals.
