Planning an Atlantic City bachelorette weekend: the rules, the calendar and getting there
What to know before booking.
An Atlantic City bachelorette party is a fun destination trip for the bride: a hotel on the Boardwalk, a spa day, seafood at a classic restaurant and a nightclub at HQ2 or Boogie Nights, at about $1,140 a head for two nights as a Revelwick estimate. Buy club tickets early and check the dress codes.
Drinks and the law
The drinking age in New Jersey is 21, and nobody under 21 may gamble or stay on a casino floor. Open containers are banned in cars; passengers in a charter bus or limousine service are exempt. Do not plan on drinks on the Boardwalk or the beach, and Borgata limits outside alcohol to one six pack or one bottle of wine per room.
When to go
NOAA normals at the city station give highs of about 75 degrees in June, 80 in July and 74 in September, and winter highs in the 40s. Beach lifeguards work from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Atlantic City Marathon runs October 17 to 18, 2026.
Getting there
ACY is 12 miles from the city, with nonstop flights on Allegiant, Breeze and American. NJ Transit runs the Atlantic City Rail Line from Philadelphia's 30th Street Station, with the last train back around 10:51 p.m., and express bus 319 from Port Authority in New York. The AC Jitney is $3 a ride, and a free shuttle links the rail terminal to the casinos.
Club tickets bought early, the dress code checked, and a hotel on the Boardwalk.

Every hotel, club, restaurant and activity on this page is named by at least three independent sources, at least one of them authoritative, and its hours, prices and group rules are as published on its own website in September 2026.
